History


ZTE Corp. founded by Hou Weigui in 1985, and headquartered in Shenzen, China. In 1997, ZTE sold its shares to the public on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. In 2006, ZTE became a member of the Wi-Fi Alliance. In 2008, ZTE has really penetrated the global market, because it has been able to serve customers in more than 140 countries.

Founder


Hou Weigui was born in China in 1942. Before he founded the ZTE Corp., he has worked as workshop director in one of the subsidiaries of Ministry of Aerospace Industry (MAI).

In 2004, ZTE Corp. gains net profit of $ 151 million. In 2005, their net profit increased to $ 184.5 million. The following year, that amount dropped to $ 137 million. In 2007, they were able to record net income of approximately $ 220 million. The amount is increased next year to $ 291 million. In 2009, ZTE Corp. net profit reached $ 410 million.
