History
Nokia Company was founded in 1865 by Fredrik Idestam in Finland. In the year of 1871, a close friend of Idestam, Leo Mechelin was joined. In that year they began using the name of Nokia. At the first time, Nokia was produced paper, but in the late 19th century, Nokia expand its business in the field of electricity. Nokia extended era of telecommunications in 1960, and in 1982 Nokia introduced their first Car Phone. Nokia produces first mobile phones in 1987, and it kept growing up to now.
Founder
Knut Fredrik Idestam was born in Tyrväntö, Finland on 28 October 1838. Idestam was active in the management of the company until finally retired in 1896. Idestam died in Helsinki, Finland on 8 April 1916.
Leopold Henrik Stanislaus Mechelin was born on 24 November 1839 in Hamina, Finland. Leo was a professor as well as politicians who fight for women’s rights and minorities. In 1905, he was appointed to head the government (at that time Finland was still under the leadership of Russia), had made himself and Finland became the first to implement the election. Leo died on 26 January 1914 in Helsinki, Finland.

There is two names which are responsible for the development of Nokia, namely:
1. Jorma Ollila, the chairman of Nokia
Jorma Jaakko Ollila was born on 15 August 1950 in Seinäjoki, Finland. He joined with Nokia since 1985, and served as chairman of Nokia since 1999. He earned his Master of Science (Economics) from London School of Economics, and a Master of Science (Engineering) from Helsinki University of Technology.
2. Stephen Elop, the President & CEO of Nokia
Stephen Elop was born on 31 December 1963 in Ontario, Canada. He earned a bachelor’s degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario in 1986. He teamed with Nokia since 2010 and served as President and CEO of Nokia immediately. This is because Elop had experience occupy important positions in several reputable companies.
Financial
In 2004, Nokia recorded a net profit of € 3.19 billion. The following year, net income increased to € 3.6 billion. In 2006, Nokia annual revenue reached € 4.3 billion. In 2007, that number rose sharply to € 6.7 billion. However, in 2008 Nokia income fell to € 3.8 billion. In 2009, Nokia net income plummeted to € 260 million.
