My question is… Does apple Ipad work just like a computer? does it have itunes and USB hook ups like a normal computer would?
im wandering if i should get a ipad but i need a computer as well. so i was wandering if the ipad works just like a computer with usb hook ups and can hold disks just like a normal computer could.

NO IT HAS NO USB PORTS OR DISC READER TAKE ON A LONG TRIP TYPE OF THING NOT ANYTHING TO REALLY DO ANY WORK ON BESIDES DOCUMENTS OR SPREADSHEETS BUT ITS A GREAT MACHINE

It has camera connection kit which means you can connect digital camera to it and import photos and videos. It also has memory card slot. You can also connect physical keyboard to it.
It has iTunes and you can download anything from iTunes directly.You don’t need computer. With help of apps like GoodReader, you can download anything from any website.
It doesn’t have CD or DVD drive.
It’s a great device but it’s not a computer so it’s not advisable to get an iPad if you don’t have any computer. Get iPad if you already have a computer even old one.
You can however create word document,spreadsheet , presentation on iPad and if you work is not over complicated, creating documents on iPad is much easier and faster.
Reecey is wrong that you can’t create documents nicely on iPad.
I create professional grade documents everyday on iPad. Not only that I do all the uploading to the WebDAV servers through iPad.
He also wrote it doesn’t have USB port but the fact is you can directly connect camera and USB based Keyboard to iPad through camera connection kit. It also reads memory card.

No, the iPad is nothing like a computer and anyone buying the iPad to use as a computer WILL be dissapointed. The iPad wasn’t made to be a computer, it was made to be an entertainment and internet device. The iPad doesn’t have USB slots, SD slots, CD drives or anything besides the 30pin dock which is used to connect to iTunes. Even though they have pages, keynote and numbers, they can’t do everything as good as you would be able to on a computer.
